Did you catch last week's show? You can still listen on the WORT archives if you like for another week. We played all songs related to the internet for my ODE to the world wide web. It was a fun playlist to put together. It had some nostalgia, some futuristic vibes, some retro-futuristic vibes, and just good ol' fashioned indie rock too. I also played some vaporwave type songs since it seemed fitting. I struggle with some of those types of tunes where you don't get to know much about the artist because I worry they may be AI generated or even if not, many are just reworkings of other beats/sounds and one could argue there's less artistry in that. But art is art! Curious about your thoughts, dear listener (or in this case, reader).
I started the playlist with some rough feminist punk (as I tend to do), through to indie rock, to electronic and more. I usually try to end the night (/morning?) with lighter, more easy listening stuff but for this one I opted to fulfill a preteen dream of mine and play Aaron Carter instead; hardly indie rock or adjacent but it still fits in my opinion! To honor one of my first childhood crushes (RIP), it was a necessity.
What did you think of the playlist? What songs would you add? Comment below!
